Experience Director

Kaori

Kaori is a passionate tour guide, travel concierge, and experience curator based in Kyoto, dedicated to creating immersive journeys that go beyond the typical sightseeing experience. Before entering the world of travel, she was a school teacher in Hungary, the United States, and at an international school in China. These diverse experiences not only shaped her deep appreciation for different cultures but also taught her how to connect people across cultural boundaries.

Kaori believes that small, sincere connections can quietly change the way people see the world. By creating experiences rooted in warmth and shared humanity, she hopes each guest leaves with a deeper sense of familiarity—not just with Japan, but with the people who call it home.

Kaori thinks that the most lasting memories are the ones we can touch and do, not just see. Whether it’s through a guided tour, a curated workshop, or a personalized activity, she aims to send every guest home not just with photos and videos, but with tangible experiences they can cherish and recreate.

Kanako

Kanako is a certified local guide based in Shiga, with over fifty years of deep connection to the region. She is passionate about sharing its natural beauty, cultural traditions, and peaceful spiritual atmosphere with visitors.

Having spent four years in the United Kingdom during her childhood, she communicates comfortably in everyday English and brings a strong cross-cultural understanding to her guiding style.

Her tours focus on peaceful shrines, authentic local towns, hidden gems, and relaxed, small-group experiences. They are family-friendly and designed to be calm, respectful, and easy to enjoy, with clear guidance on shrine etiquette.

Hospitality is at the heart of her work, and she creates a warm, welcoming environment for travelers of all ages seeking a meaningful, crowd-free experience of Japan.

Adventure Coordinator

Haru

Haru’s life is a journey in itself. As a teenager, he set out on his first “round Japan” motorcycle trip, followed by hitchhiking across half the country—creating lifelong friendships along the way.

His adventures didn’t stop there: he’s explored both Americas, from the bustling streets of New York to the rich cultures of Mexico and Peru, immersing himself in world heritage sites and the heart of the Amazon. A transformative boat journey down the Amazon River inspired Haru’s dream of creating a tea-house boat experience on its waters.

Back home, he’s channeling his passion for design and exploration into pursuing Level 1 Architect licensure in Japan. With Haru, every adventure is more than a trip—it’s a story waiting to happen.
